CAR AND TRAIN COLLIDE The Sault police are investigating two separate collisions yesterday. The first accident involved a car and a Huron Central Locomotive.
CAR AND TRAIN COLLIDE
The Sault police are investigating two separate collisions yesterday. The first accident involved a car and a Huron Central Locomotive. At 8:44 yesterday morning, a 2001 Chevrolet operated by 17-year-old Matthew Karwaski of Forest Avenue crossed the tracks at Pine Street and was struck by a train. The Chevrolet was demolished but there was minimal damage to the locomotive. There were no injuries. Mr. Karwaski was issued a summons for disobeying a crossing signal. The locomotive was operated by Mart Alcock, age 62, of Echo Bay.

ACCIDENT SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL
Police are investigating a collision involving a school bus, driven by Anita Walker, age 47, of Constellation Place and a green Saturn operated by Lorne Smith, age 73, of Pine Street that occurred at 1:49 p.m. yesterday on Great Northern Road at Second Line.

The fire department was called to extricate Patricia Smith, age 66, a passenger in the Saturn. She was taken to hospital for treatment of undetermined injuries
