One Person to Appear in Bail Court Today
Yesterday afternoon officers from Investigation Services arrested 43-year old Guy Coutu of 728 Wellington Street West and charged him with one count of possession of child pornography. Last week officers received information that lead them to conduct an investigation which resulted in the arrest of the accused.
Stolen Purse
21-year old Jana Sinclair of 267 Pim Street was arrested last evening and charged with one count of robbery. It is alleged that the accused assaulted another female on the 13th of November and also stole her purse. The accused will appear in court on January 8th, 2007.
Possession of Stolen Laptop
20-year old Amanda Bruni of 73 Woodhurst Drive was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that on the 21st of November the accused had a stolen laptop in her possession. The accused will appear in court on December 18th.
Five persons were arrested in the last 24-hour period and all were charged with one count of theft under $5,000
1) It is alleged that 45-year old Marc Sabourin of 13 Euclid Road committed theft by taking food from Collings Variety without paying for it on the 14th of November. He will appear in court on December 18th.
2) It is alleged that 40-year old Claudette Rimmell of 102-536 Goulais Avenue committed theft by taking several cosmetic items from the Rexall Drug Store on Second Line West without paying for them. She will appear in court on January 8th, 2007.
3) It is alleged that 38-year old Jennifer Vogl of 143 Sutton Place committed theft by taking groceries from Dean’s Food Basic without paying them. She will appear in court on January 8th, 2007.
4) It is alleged that 25-year old Jennifer Hooper of lower-435 Second Line West committed theft by taking money from the till while working at Tim Horton’s on Second Line West. She will appear in court on January 8th.
5) It is alleged that 58-year old Ada Lidstone of 436 Second Avenue committed theft by leaving the Food Basics Store on Pine Street without paying for groceries. She will appear in court on January 8th.
Break & Enter
Last evening a garage was broken into on Old Goulais Bay Road. It is unknown if anything was taken at this time.
The stolen Lock Dairy truck that was reported stolen in the news release on the 21st of November is still outstanding.
12 year old Robbed
Last evening around 5:30 pm a 12-year old youth was robbed while on Second Line West near the Video Network store. Three male youths alleged grabbed the accused and forcibly took his backpack. The suspects are described as follows:
1) Caucasian, approximately 6 feet tall, medium build with short dark hair, wearing a ball cap, a black t-shirt with a red hooded zip up sweater over it, baggy jeans and black shoes.
2) Caucasian, approximately 6 feet tall, heavier build, with brown facial hair, wearing a black sweater and baggy jeans. This youth had a blue BMX bike with him.
3) Approximately 6 feet tall, medium build, long blonde hair, wearing a black toque and black jeans. This male also had a black spray painted BMX bike.

Motor Vehicle Collision on Great Northern Rd.
Yesterday just after 12 noon City Police attended in the 300 block of Great Northern Road for a motor vehicle collision that resulted in injures to both drivers and one passenger. All persons took themselves to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A car operated by a 20-year old male was southbound on Great Northern Road and stopped for traffic. A car operated by a 24-year old female was also traveling southbound on Great Northern Road and struck the back of the male’s car. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. The female driver has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of careless driving.
