Motor vehicle collisions
Yesterday’s snowstorm and road conditions kept Patrol Officers extremely busy yesterday. Between 11:15 am and 8 pm 41 reports were taken of motor vehicle collisions. Road conditions played a role in some of the collisions but drivers failing to allow themselves enough stopping time or driving too quick for the road conditions were also factors in the number of collisions. Fortunately there were no injuries reported in any of the collisions. The City Board of Works have been busy plowing and sanding the roads throughout the night. However motorists need to keep in mind that the roads are still slippery underneath. Slow down and allow yourself a little extra time to arrive at your destination. And please ensure that you clean off your windows and that visibility through all your windows is clear.
