On the 2nd October 2014 a 45-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding warrant for breaching a recognizance. This original charge stemmed from a domestic incident.
On October 1, 2014, city police responded to a theft call at the Walmart at 293 Bay Street. Investigation revealed that the accused Alicia Haldenby, age 29 of James Street, allegedly was observed taking items out of the packages and putting them into her purse. The accused then paid for items in the shopping cart and left the store without paying for the goods in her purse. The accused was arrested for theft under $5000. The accused was also found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana and was charged with possession of a controlled substance. The accused will appear in court on November 3, 2014 at 9 a.m.
On September 30, 2014, an alleged female victim of domestic abuse complained to city police regarding several dated assaults that have occurred between December of 2005 and August of 2014. The accused was arrested on October 1, 2014 for 4 counts of assault with a weapon and assault. The accused will appear in bail court on October 2, 2014 10 a.m.
On Wednesday October 1, 2014, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police executed a search warrant at 154 Albert Street East, and in doing so located a male that was wanted by the Police Service. The accused Tyler Nicholas Seaton attempted to flee by jumping out the window. Police apprehended the accused. The charges involved included robbery and breach of probation. The accused will appear in Bail Court October 2, 2014 at 10 a.m. During the search a female accused was found to be in possession of suspected controlled substances. It is alleged that the female possessed 66.9 grams of cocaine, 6.1 grams of crack cocaine, 1400 micrograms of Fentanyl and 16 pills of Oxycodone. The accused was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking X 4. Chantelle Lynn Bonenfant, age 32 of Weldon Avenue, will appear in Bail Court on October 2, 2014 at 10 a.m.
