Bear Sightings

Yesterday there were several more bear sightings. Several of the locations are in the outer city limits, but a few have been in more populated areas. Last evening around 8:15 pm a bear was seen in the area of Shannon Road, Trunk Road and Arizona. A small bear cub was in the area of Morin Street around 6 pm last night. Around 6 pm another bear was in the area of the new truck route on John Street. Also around 6 pm a bear was seen in the Manitou Park area, around Anna Street and Corey Avenue. As fall is upon us the bears are looking for food to eat to prepare them for hibernation. Keep any food sources inside and away from the bears. Do not fill your birdfeeders and do not leave food for your pets outside. Also put your garbage in closed containers. Do not approach the bears and notify the City Police and the MNR. Remember, these are wild animals.
