Procuring Prostitution
37-year old Line Duguay of 325 Chambers Avenue was arrested yesterday afternoon by officers from Investigation Services. It is alleged that during the month of August of this year the accused involved a female under the age of 18 years in prostitution. The accused has been charged with one count of procuring prostitution and one count of living on the avails of a person under the age of 18. The accused was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for fail to appear in court in March of this year on unrelated matters. The accused will appear in bail court this morning.
Male Charged with Assault
A 35-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday afternoon in relation to a domestic violence situation. On September 27th around 2 am the accused got into a verbal argument with his common law wife at their downtown residence. The argument escalated and it is alleged that the accused punched the victim in head. The accused was on probation at the time of the offence. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and two counts of breach of probation.
A 15-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested and charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. The female victim was known to the accused but is not a domestic situation. The incident occurred yesterday while in a vehicle in the City’s west end.
Female Charged with Criminal Harassment
45-year old Shelley Vuotelainen of 20 Argyle Street was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of criminal harassment. It is alleged that the accused did contact a male person known to her by repeatedly communicating with the victim on the 21st of September. On three prior occasions the accused was warned not to communicate with the victim. The accused will appear in court on October 31st.
Male Charged with Fraud
42-year old Aurel Dumoulin of 22 Albert Street East was arrested yesterday afternoon at the Wal-Mart Store. It is alleged that the accused attended at the shoe department and took a pair of Kodiak boots valued at around $90. The accused then attended at the courtesy counter and asked for a refund. Security was contacted and arrested and turned over to City Police. The accused has been charged with one count of fraud under $5,000 and will appear in court on November 7th.
Domestic Issue
Officers from Investigation Services arrested a 44-year old male yesterday afternoon. It is alleged that between September 15th and September 26th the accused accessed the e-mail account of his estranged common-law wife. As a result of the investigation the accused has been charged with one count of unauthorized use of computer-obtain computer service, one count of unauthorized use of computer-use password and one count of interception of private communication. The accused will appear in court on November 7th. The name of the accused is not being released in this investigation as it involves a domestic related situation and the release of the accused could identify the victim.
Break and Enter
Yesterday City Police took a report of a break and enter to a home in the 500 block of Queen Street West. Sometime between 3 pm and 9am on the 27th and 28th thieves entered the home and made off with a bike and telephones. The homeowner is compiling of list of property that was taken.
