On the 1st of April 2014 the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated a domestic assault complaint. Officers learned that a female had been assaulted by her male common-law husband. The assault consisted of being pushed, grabbed and slapped. The male also allegedly caused damage to her laptop computer prior to the assault. The victim did not require any medical attention. The female victim also disclosed to officers that the male had punched her in February 2014 while travelling in his motor vehicle. The accused has been charged with two counts of Domestic assault and one count of Mischief under &5,000 and appeared in Bail Court this morning.
On April 1, 2014 at 12:20 pm Amanda Lewis, age 37 attended the Police Station to turn herself in. Lewis was wanted by police for not attending court on an outstanding breach of probation charge. She has been charged with Failing to Attend Court. Lewis will now appear in court on May 5th.
On April 1, 2014 at 12:10 pm Patrol Officers arrested and charged Kenneth Triplett, age 29 of Peoples Rd. with Theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that he took approximately $25.00 of merchandise from Metro at 275 Second Line W. without paying for it. He will appear in court on May 5.

On March 31, 2014, police responded to a call at the Station Mall regarding a theft. [Police allege] Sears security observed the accused Loretta Carrie, age 33 of James Street, conceal 2 rings and leave the store without paying. The accused was arrested for theft under $5000. The accused will appear in court on May 5, 2014 at 9 a.m.
On March 31 a male, age 28, was arrested for breaching a court ordered condition. The accused breached his recognizance by not obeying his curfew. The accused will appear in court on May 5, 2014 at 9 a.m.
On March 31 officers responded to a domestic violence incident involving an accused male, age 50. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his spouse on March 29, 30 and 31, 2014. The accused was arrested and charged with 3 counts of assault and 7 counts of breaching probation. The accused will appear in bail court on April 1, 2014 at 10 a.m.
On March 30 a female accused, age 42, attended at her estranged husband’s residence. The accused is on court ordered conditions not to communicate with him, not to be within 150 meters of his residence and not to molest, harass or physically interfere with him. The accused would not leave when requested. On March 31 the accused turned herself in at the police station and was charged with 3 counts of breach of recognizance. The accused will appear in bail court on April 1, 2014 at 10 a.m.
