Break and Enter
City Police were notified yesterday morning of a break-in to The Tire People Shop located at 165 Drive In Rd. It is believed that culprits stole in excess of 50 transport truck tires. Also stolen from this location was a 1990 Ford refrigerated cube van, white in colour. The licence on the van is 7790CL, anyone with information on the break–in or seeing this cube van is asked to call the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Detective Office.
Instant Teller Tampered With
Yesterday morning City Police were called to the HSBC Bank on Queen St.E. regarding the ATM machine being tampered with. Anyone that used that machine over the weekend should contact the bank to make sure everything is in order with his or her account.
Male and Female Charged with Assault to One Another
Yesterday afternoon City Police were called to an address in the 100 block of Edinburgh St. in regards to an assault. Upon arrival the officers were informed that a 30-year-old female and a 41-year-old male had assault one another with beer bottles. The female suffered a bump on her forehead and the male sustained a cut to his mouth. Both had been drinking and refused medical attention. Each victim/accused was charged with Assault With A Weapon. The male person will be attending Bail Court today at 10:00 AM and the female will be attending court on Monday May 16th at 9:00 AM.
Youth Pulls Out Knife In Argument
Yesterday afternoon at approx. 3:20 PM two students got involved in an argument, on a school bus. During the course of the argument it is alleged that the accused pulled out a buck knife and threatened the victim. The accused was said to have put the knife blade to the victim’s throat. City Police were informed of the incident when the Accused surrendered them self to the police at the station. The youth will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident. The accused was charged with: Assault with A Weapon
