Afternoon news On April 15, 2014 it is alleged that the accused Lindsay Perreault, age 30 of Wellington Street East entered the Walmart store in the Station Mall and put several different video games into her purse.

On April 15, 2014 it is alleged that the accused Lindsay Perreault, age 30 of Wellington Street East entered the Walmart store in the Station Mall and put several different video games into her purse.  The accused then left the store without paying. The accused was apprehended by security and arrested.  Police attended and continued the arrest.  The accused is charged with theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on May 26, 2014 at 9:00am.

On April 15, 2014 officers attended at the Donald Doucet Center regarding a young person age 16 assaulting another young person.  After investigation the accused was arrested for assault.  The accused was also charged with 2 counts of breach of probation and will appear in bail court on April 16, 2014 at 10:00am.

On April 15, 2014 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Drug Unit attended at 63 Copernicus Drive and arrested the accused Tristin Matheson age 18 and seized 166 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a quantity of currency. The street value of the drugs was $2,760.00.  The accused was arrest for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and simple possession of a controlled substance.  The accused will appear in court onMay 26, 2014 at 9:00 am.

Last evening officers attended in the downtown area for a domestic dispute. It is alleged that a 58-year-old male assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her and cutting her with a knife. The victim did require medical treatment for non life threatening injuries.  The accused was located a short time later and taken into custody. The male has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault.

Last evening officers attended at Sears for a shoplifter. It is alleged that 43-year-old Ralph Carricato of Arbor Drive attempted to steal a jacket from the store. He was apprehended by security and turned over to police. The accused has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on May 26.

A residence on Wilcox Avenue was broken into sometime between April 12 and 8 p.m. last night. It does not appear anything was taken at this time.

On April 14, 2014, a man turned himself into the City Police Service. He was wanted on outstanding warrants for theft under $5,000, fail to appear for fingerprints and fail to appear in court. Darren Lambert (age 20) of Wellington Street West will be appearing in court on the 12th of May, 2014, at 9 a.m. to answer to the charges.

On April 14, 2014 City Police were conducting a follow up investigation regarding a previous domestic incident. When questioning the apparent victim of the past incident, the police found the victim’s cell phone was rife with text messages from an accused male who was not to have any communication with her. The man was subsequently arrested and charged with breaching his release conditions. He will be appearing in bail court at 10 a.m. April 15, 2014.
