On August 26, 2014 at approximately 2 p.m., city police arrested and charged a 23-year-old male with harassing phone calls and two breaches of probation. The charges stem from a domestic occurrence.

On August 26, 2014 at approximately 2 p.m., city police arrested and charged a 23-year-old male with harassing phone calls and two breaches of probation. The charges stem from a domestic occurrence.  It is alleged that he telephoned the victim in excess of 20 times, stating that he was going to continue to call her just to harass her.  Further, the accused was on probation with conditions including a curfew and not to be in possession of any device that could ignite a fire. It is alleged that he breached his curfew and at the time of his arrest was in possession of a lighter. He will be appearing in bail court on August 27, 2014.

On August 25, 2014 shortly after 5 p.m., patrol officers arrested and charged a 55-year-old woman with domestic related assault. The victim of the assault received minor injuries. She will appear in court on October 1.

On August 25, 2014 at 8 p.m., patrol officers arrested and charged a 16-year-old youth on the strength of several outstanding warrants. The young person was wanted for two counts of Failing to Attend Court and Printing and five counts of Breach of Probation. Officers also learned that on August 24 at 1 a.m., the youth attend a residence in the west end with a BB gun and threatened the occupant’s there. The young person fired the BB gun several times damaging the home. The youth then left the residence with a quantity of alcohol. No one was injured in this incident. The young person has been further charged with Mischief under $5,000, Assault with a Weapon, Pointing a Firearm, Breach of Probation and Unlawfully in a Dwelling House. The youth will appear in bail court on August 26.

On August 25, 2014 at 11:40 p.m., Matthew Wegener, age 28 of Parker Avenue turned himself in for an outstanding fail to attend court charge. He will appear in court on September 29.

On August 26, 2014 at 1:17 a.m., patrol officers arrested and charged a 33-year-old male for assault causing bodily harm. On August 25 officers learned that the male struck his girlfriend. She received injuries to her head and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The accused will appear in court on August 26.

On August 26, 2014 at 1:15 a.m., patrol officers arrested a 51-year-old female who threatened to kill her boyfriend. The female was on a recognizance of bail with several conditions that included not contacting the victim. She has been charged with three counts of breach of recognizance and threatening to cause death. She will appear in court on August 26.

A home on Spruce Street was broken in to. Thieves entered the residence sometime over the weekend and removed jewellery from the home.
