Assault and Threatening

Last night at approx. 10:00 Pm City Police arrested a 52-year-old male and charged him with Assault and Threatening. It is alleged that earlier in the evening the accused, attended an east end address assaulted his girlfriend – by grabbing her by the throat and pulling her by the hair, and then threatened to cause her bodily harm her if she called the police. The victim did not require medical attention as a result of the assault. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 Am.

Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

Yesterday afternoon City Police arrested a 35-year-old male on outstanding warrants for Mischief and Taking a Vehicle without Consent. It is alleged that on August 20th 2006 the accused attended at his girlfriend’s residence broke a door window and then stole her car. The accused will be appearing in court on Jan 30th at 9:00 Am.

Two Cases of Vehicle Mischief

City Police received reports of Mischief to two vehicles yesterday. A vehicle parked in the 200 block of Gloucester St. was damaged, as was one that was parked in the 600 block of Queen St W.

Attempted Auto Theft in the East End

Yesterday morning at approx. 8:00 Am City Police were called to an east end residence in regards to two attempted thefts of autos. Culprit(s) attempted to steal two vehicles from a residence in the 100 block of Florwin Dr. Both vehicles suffered damage but were not taken. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call City Police or Crimestoppers.

Break and Enters

City Police are currently investigating two break and enters that occurred early this morning. The first was reported at 4:00 Am when police responding to an alarm discovered that someone had broken into The Source for Sports. It is not known what if anything was taken at this time as police are still searching the area.
The second break and enter was reported at Paesano’s Foods – 305 Wellington St.W. at 5:48 Am. City Police responding to an alarm attended the address and located a male person at the location. A male has been arrested and is being investigated for Break and Enter. No further information is available at this time.
