MAN CHARGED WITH ARSON
Yesterday afternoon at 2:40, police arrested a 57-year-old male for being intoxicated in a public place. The male was locked up in a cell at the police station. At 5:30pm, police had to call the fire department as a fire had broken out in the cell housing the 57-year-old. Russell Atkins of Queen Street East has been charged with Arson.

THIEVES SMASH THEIR GET-AWAY CAR
Yesterday at 8:30pm police were called to a home on Marconi Street where a home invasion-style robbery had taken place. It is alleged that two persons forced their way into the home and held the lone male occupant at knifepoint while contents of the home were stolen. The thieves also stole the victim's 2002 Ford Mustang.

The thieves left in the Mustang and were subsequently involved in two accidents. The first collision occurred at the corner of Wellington East and Church Streets at 9:26pm. The stolen vehicle, which was westbound on Wellington, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Ryan Boston of Atwater Street t
