A vehicle was broken into in the 100 block of Drive Inn Road and approximately $7,500 worth of power and hand tools were stolen. On January 17, a book of Group Health Trust Fund tickets were stolen from the Mac’s Mart on Boundary Road.

On January 17, a book of Group Health Trust Fund tickets were stolen from the Mac’s Mart on Boundary Road. The ticket numbers were 10411 to 10420. Two of these tickets were sold prior to the book being stolen. These tickets are not being sold door to door. If you have purchased a ticket with a number in this range, please contact the Sault Ste. A resident in the 100 block of Glasgow Avenue reported their home was broken into sometime overnight from the 26th of January to the 27th of January. Nothing was reported stolen.

A 21-year-old male was arrested at the court house this morning on warrants for two counts of possession of stolen property and breach of a bail condition. It is alleged that the accused had in his possession a guitar and identification belonging to his ex girlfriend. He pawned the guitar in December of 2013 and had the identification in his possession at that time. He was on a bail release at the time with a condition to not be in the city of Sault Ste. Marie unless to speak to legal counsel or attend court. He was sent to bail court.

On the 25th of January a residence in the 500 block of Second Line West was broken into. Cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken.

Between 7 a.m. Friday January 24 and 7 a.m. this morning, city police responded to 52 motor vehicle collisions. Motorists are reminded to slow down and adjust their driving to the road conditions.

On January 26, 2014, police responded at a domestic related incident. It is alleged that the accused, age 27, assaulted the victim by pushing her. There had been a verbal altercation before the assault took place. The accused was arrested for assault and will appear in bail court on January 27, 2014 at 10 a.m.
