Three People Arrested After Search Warrant Executed
Yesterday afternoon, at approx. 12:50 PM the Sault Ste Marie Police executed search warrants at two residences in the west end of the city. As a result of the searches police arrested three persons. Arrested were Larry Joseph Gareau, Ralph James Carricato and Candice Christine Desjardins.
It is alleged that when the police searched the residence of Larry Gareau they located a small quantity of cocaine and two unsafely stored firearms. Larry Gareau, age 50, of 335 Beverly St. was charged with Possession of a Substance and two counts of Unsafe Storage of a Firearm. He will be appearing in Court on Monday April 24 /06 at 9:00 AM.
When police searched the joint residence of Ralph Carricato and Candice Desjardins it is alleged that the officers located small quantities of cocaine and marihuana, two prohibited handgun magazines an unsafely stored firearm and an illegal satellite receiver card. At the time of Mr. Carricato’s arrested it was also learned that he had failed to appear for fingerprints. Ralph Carricato, age 35, of 87 Goulais Ave. is charged with Two counts of Possession of a Substance, Two counts of Possession of a Prohibited Device, Possession of a Device for Obtaining Telecommunication Service and Failing to Appear for Fingerprints. Mr. Carricato will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
The third accused, Candice Desjardins, age 18 of 87 Goulais Ave. is charged with Two counts of Possession of a Substance, Two counts of Possession of a Prohibited Device, Possession of a Device for Obtaining Telecommunication Service and Armed Robbery. It is alleged that Candice Desjardins on March 15th attended at Merlino’s Confectionary located at 537 Douglas St. and robbed the store clerk. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
Gun Shot On Gore
At approx. 1:20 AM this morning members of the Emergency Service Unit attended at an address in the 100 block of Gore St. regarding a gun shot. Police had been called to the area when residents called to advise they had heard what was believed to be a gun shot noise. Investigation showed that a gun had been fire but police were unable to locate the weapon. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
The investigation is continuing.
Domestic Dispute
At approx. 8:30 PM last night City Police were called to an address in the downtown area regarding a domestic. It is alleged that a 48-year-old male did forcibly enter the premises of a female known to him and then assaulted her by choking her. The accused is charged with Forcible Entry and Assault. The accused male will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
Break And Enter
Police are investigating one break and enter reported in the past 24 hours. Culprits stole auto parts from Sunset Auto located at 668 Second Line W.
