The Sault Police Services was called to investigate an accident yesterday at 3:13 p.m. at the intersection of North and Bloor Streets. A 1992 Dodge Caravan, operated by 60-year-old Kenneth Leberge of MacDonald Avenue was eastbound on Bloor Street and attempted to cross North Street to Birch when he was struck by a northbound 1991 Ford Tempo driven by Mario Rocchetta, age 18, of Arden Street. There were no injuries but both vehicles were severely damaged. The Leberge vehicle rolled over and spun after the impact. Leberge was issued a summons for failing to yield.

IMPAIRED DRIVER
City police officers were called to investigate a single vehicle accident in the driveway of Algoma Steel's #1 gate. A 1985 Ford Thunderbird left the roadway and struck a barrier. The vehicle received moderate damage and the driver, Caroline Burch, age 34, of Second Line West was not injured. Burch was arrested and charged with impaired driving and will appear in court on July 8.
