Afternoon release: On May 28, 2013 at 11:45 a.m. City Police attended at a local group home and arrested and charged a 16 year old female with threatening bodily harm to an adult worker. The youth will be appearing in court on July 9, 2013.

On May 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. City Police responded to a disturbance in the area of Northland Rd.  The investigation revealed that a 17 year old male had assaulted his ex-girlfriend by picking her up and throwing her onto the roadway.  The male also threatened her by stating he would kill her.  Accordingly, he was arrested and charged with Assault and Threaten Death.  He will be appearing in bail court May 29, 2013.

Police Continuing to Search for Robbery Suspect

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police are continuing their investigation into an armed robbery that occurred on April 18th, 2013 at the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy.  Officers are still attempting to locate 42 year old Christopher Donald Mitchell, the second male, believed to be responsible for this robbery.  Mr. Mitchell is currently wanted for one count of robbery with a firearm and one count of assault with a weapon.  Please do not attempt to approach this male.  Anyone having information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service or Crimestoppers immediately.

Update: Biggings Ave. Home Invasion

Officers with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 22 year old Paul Archibald of Sault Ste. Marie.  Archibald is described as a white male 5’7”tall weighing 140 pounds with short brown hair and green eyes.  Mr. Archibald is currently wanted by police for offences including; Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, 2 Counts of Break and Enter, Wearing a Disguise with Intent, Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000, and 2 Counts of Breach of Probation.

It is alleged that on the May 9th 2013, the accused was involved in a break and enter to a business trailer located on Great Northern Road where 7,300 feet of copper wire as well as a variety of tools and a generator totalling over $34,000.00 had been stolen.

Later on May 20th the accused along with two other unknown suspects broke into a residence in the 100 block of Biggings Ave.  While inside the accused was wearing a bandanna over his face and had a crowbar in his possession.  The accused assaulted a male victim by hitting him with the crow bar number of times and choking him.

Earlier release:

At approximately 6:00 pm officers attended at 338 Fifth Avenue where the accused, 65 year old Stephen Connor of 70 East Street was arrested for impaired driving and over 80mg. It is alleged that Mr Connor pulled into the driveway on Fifth Avenue and ran over a scooter while doing so. He will appear in court on Monday June 24th.

A 48 year old female was arrested on a domestic related charge. The accused is scheduled to attend in court on June 26th to face a charge of mischief from an incident that occurred on May 19th of this year.
