Handgun Found In Vehicle
Yesterday morning, at approx. 1:35 AM, City Police officers stopped a vehicle on Pim St. It is alleged that while the officers were talking to the male driver they observed a handgun in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding a small calibre handgun, a loaded gun magazine and two boxes of ammunition. Officers also located a small amount of a drug, believed to be cocaine, in the vehicle. The driver, Ronald James Rennison, age 43, of 1459 Third Line E. was arrested and will be appearing in Bail Court on today at 10:00 AM.
Mr. Rennison is charged with:
1. Unauthorized Possession of A Restricted Weapon.
2. Unauthorized Possession in a Motor Vehicle.
3. Possession of Restricted Firearm with Ammunition.
4. Breach of Probation (2 Counts)
5. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
6. Possession of Firearm while Prohibited.
Youths Caught Entering Vehicles
On Monday May 29th, at approx. 3:40 AM, City Police were called to Bush St. regarding youths entering cars. Upon arrival of the police several youths were seen fleeing from the area. The City Police Canine Unit was called to attend and subsequently track the three youth to their hiding places. All three youths were charged with Trespass by Night and Possession of Stolen Property. They will be appearing in court on Tuesday July 4th at 9:30 AM.
Obstructing Police & Theft
Yesterday afternoon City Police arrested Elizabeth Nisi, age 57, of 47 Greene St., and charged her with Obstruct Police and Theft Under $ 5,000.00. It is alleged that on May 1st, the accused attended at the Canadian Tire Store and stole a quantity of items. Upon being arrested she gave police officers a false name. Ms. Nisi will be appearing in court on July 10th at 9:00 AM.
Assault
Yesterday evening City Police arrested a 37-year-old male and charged him with assault. It is alleged that the accused hit his girlfriend on May 26th . The victim did not require medical attention for her injuries. The accused will be appearing in court on July 12th at 9:00 AM.
Fraud
At approx. 2:35 PM yesterday afternoon City Police officers attended at 160 Goulais Ave and arrested
23-year-old Laura King. It is alleged that Ms King did between August and September 2005 commit the offences of Fraud and False Pretences by falsely obtaining credit cards and then using them. At the time of these offences the accused was on a release document with conditions to notify City Police of any change of her address. The accused changed addresses and failed to notify police.
The accused is charged with:
1. Fraud
2. False Pretence
3. Breach of an Undertaking.
She will be appearing in court on Monday July 10th at 9:00 AM to face these charges.
Break & Enters
City Police are investigating a Break and Enter to an office complex in the 300 block of Queen St. E. Culprits gained entry to the building by unknown means and then entered two offices. Two laptops and a small amount of cash were stolen from one office and a digital camera and cash was stolen from the second office.
Another Break and Enter was reported to an apartment in the 200 block of Queen St.E. In this incident the victim was away from her residence when culprits forced the apartment door. Victim reports a quantity of clothing stolen.
