A 22 year old male is in custody and has been remanded to bail court charged with assault, forcible confinement, uttering death threats and Breach of Probation after it is alleged that on 01 Sept 2014 he held down, choked and grabbed the throat of his pregnant girlfriend. It is also alleged he threatened to kill her and her unborn child.
23 year old Nicholas Fronzi of Third Avenue is in custody and has been remanded to bail court charged with break and enter, breach of probation and possession of stolen property after a 911 call was received about a male breaking into a residence on Charles St. at 12:38 today. An observant neighbor observed a male enter the residence through a basement window and called police. The witness kept observation on the home while remaining on the telephone with police and also warned the homeowner who arrived while the accused was in the residence. A second citizen in the area called police after he observed a suspicious male dump a bicycle, hide a backpack and change his clothes. Officers located the male in the area after he fled. He had hidden the bicycle, hidden his backpack and changed clothes to avoid apprehension. Fronzi was arrested with a gold ring from the residence found hidden in his shoe.
Damage to a window was reported on Hudson Street - apparently made with a pellet gun.

On the 1st of September, 2014 there was a break and enter to the residence in the 100 block of Weldon Avenue. Entry was gained by kicking the front door of the residence. Taken were two 60” Phillips TV’s with a surround sound system. Two male suspects were seen in the area with a newer model minivan blue in colour. The description of the males: mid 20’s, wearing black jackets with hoods and one males hood was yellow and pink in colour, one male was also wearing a cap.
On the 1st of September, 2014 there was an attempt break and enter to a residence in the 100 block of Westridge Road. Entry was attempted by kicking the back door of the residence. A suspect was seen in the area and was described: late teens early 20’s, short black hair, dark skin, brown eyes, wearing a light coloured shirt and shorts. Male suspect was riding a bicycle and left the scene.
On the 1st of September, 2014 three domestic incidents were reported to the Sault Ste. Marie Police and were investigated by Patrol and Investigation Services. All three incidents are still under investigation, no arrests made.
On the 1st of September, 2014 Patrol Services investigated a threatening complaint where a female was threatened over the building intercom system in the 400 block of McNabb Street. Suspect or suspects are unknown; this incident is still under investigation.
On the 2nd of September, 2014 Patrol Services responded to a bear complaint in the 500 block of Moss Road. Three bears were seen eating garbage in the yard of a residence. The garbage was cleaned up by the home owner and the bears left the area without incident. Residents are reminded to be mindful not to leave garbage outside of their residence as this will attract bears and other wild animals in the area.
*Note: Reminder extra caution today, September 2, with regards to driving. Public school students will be returning back to school and to be mindful of pedestrian and school bus traffic. Further, separate school students will be returning tomorrow on September 3, 2014.
