Two charged after multiple break-ins

Both are facing multiple charges of break and enter and mischief among other charges

Sault Ste. Marie Police have charged two people in connection with three break and enters between Feb. 15 and Feb. 17.

Chem Hyvarinen, 39, has been charged with  three counts of break and enter, two counts of mischief under $5,000, three counts of possession of instruments for breaking into coin-operated or currency exchange devices and three counts of breach of probation.

Chelsey Yates, 34, is facing charges of three counts of break and enter, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and three counts of possession of instruments for breaking into coin-operated or currency exchange devices.

In a release issued Thursday afternoon, police say that, between the aforementioned dates, "the two accused entered a multi unit residence in the 100 block of Breton Road twice and a multi-unit residence in the 0-100 block of Boehmer Boulevard. It is further alleged the two accused damaged coin operated laundry equipment."

Hyvarinen and Yates were arrested on Wednesday.
