Two charged in knife attack on cyclist

Police say they slashed the victim repeatedly after pushing them off their bicycle

A person was knocked from their bicycle and slashed repeatedly in the torso by two people on the evening of Sept. 27, says police.

A 17-year-old woman is accused of pushing the victim off their bike and faces a charge of assault with a weapon. She is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 3.

Jacob Temple, aged 18 faces charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of a controlled substance in relation to the incident. Police found him to be in possession of Xanax tablets. 

He is scheduled to answer to those charges in court on Nov. 9.

The incident happened at 9:13 p.m. in a playground in the 0-100 block of Amber Street and both accused were located and arrested shortly after the attack.

Emergency Medical Services attended but the victim refused treatment.

Police believe the victim and accused persons are known to each other.
