Two charged with trafficking when police seize 112 grams of suspected fentanyl (4 photos)

Police say they seized $56,428 worth of drugs

Police have charged two in a trafficking investigation this weekend, seizing $56,428 worth of drugs.

On Sunday around 3 p.m., police report observing two people near the entrance of a business in the 0-100 block of Queen St. E. Police say the two ran from the area after seeing the two individuals. Officers then found the two individuals in a parked vehicle behind the business.

In a press release issued today, Sault Police say they learned one of the individuals was bound by conditions to remain at their residence and the other was wanted on outstanding warrants.

Police say a subsequent search of the two accused found both to be in possession of opioids.

Sault Ste. Marie Police report seizing 112.7 grams of fentanyl and .43 grams crack cocaine upon searching the vehicle.

Both Ginalisa Fusco, 27, and Brett Ouimet, 21, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Fusco faces three additional charges. Two of possession of a controlled substance and one breach of probation.

She is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 19, 2020.

Ouimet was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach of recognizance. He was held for bail court.
