Vehicle break-ins lead to charges

On Oct. 1, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 23-year-old Megan Laird of Wellington Street East for possession of stolen property.

It is alleged that just after 10:30 a.m. the accused entered multiple vehicles in the area of Pim Street. Witnesses in the area contacted police and she was soon after taken into custody. 

Officers located property belonging to victims in the possession of the accused, as well as a large knife. At the time the accused was bound by a recognizance with a condition that stated she is not to possess any weapons.

The accused has been charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of breach of recognizance and one count of breach of probation. She was held for bail court.
