SAULT STE MARIE POLICE SERVICE

On Wednesday Sept. 14, 2016 at approximately 5:30 p.m. a private citizen called the city police to report a white truck driving in an erratic manner, which eventually went into the ditch on Queen Street East near Lorna Drive.
Upon arrival police located a lone male near the vehicle who was identified as the driver.
As a result of further investigation, police arrested 34-year-old Mika Tuomi of River Road for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
Mr. Tuomi later was charged with failing to provide a breath sample to a qualified technician. Mr. Tuomi will appear in court for these offences on Oct. 23, 2016.
The Sault Ste. Marie Police would like to thank all private citizens who report any suspicious activities to the police.
