Sault police have recovered a vehicle that was reported stolen from Pic Mobert First Nation, a 3½-hour drive north of the city.

Around 11 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a call about a person sleeping in a vehicle parked at a business in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road.

When officers arrived, investigators discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen. The person in the driver's seat was in possession of the keys, police say.

Tasha Stone-Perron, 30, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and non-compliance of probation.

She was released from custody and is scheduled to return to court July 24. None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
