On April 26 at 3 p.m. officers investigated a male in the downtown area of the city. A check found that the male was wanted on warrants for theft under $5,000, breach of probation and failing to attend court.

On April 26 at 3 p.m. officers investigated a male in the downtown area of the city. A check found that the male was wanted on warrants for theft under $5,000, breach of probation and failing to attend court. 24-year-old Thomas Alfred Agawa of no fixed address was arrested for these offences. When searched by arresting officers the accused was also found in possession of 28 grams of marihuana. The accused was further charged with possession of a controlled substance and again breaching his probation order. The accused will appear in bail court on April 27.

On April 26 at 10:30 p.m. officers arrested 45-year-old Jerry Allan Leveille of Grace Street. It is alleged that the accused attended at a downtown store on two occasions removing a juicer from the store on the first occasion and a car battery on the second. The accused did not pay for either of these items. The total value of property taken was $420. The accused has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and breaching his probation order. The accused will appear in court on May 30.

On April 26 at 5 p.m. in the Station Mall Parking Lot the Sault Ste Marie Drug Enforcement Unit along with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit affected the arrest of 33-year-old Alzobir Mohamed Ahmed of Lewis Road. The arrest of the accused was in relation to an ongoing operation involving drug trafficking. Subsequent to the arrest a search warrant was also executed on the accused’s residence. It is alleged that the accused was in possession of cocaine, marihuana and a large amount of cash. Officers also located the ancillary products to support the offences. The accused is currently charged with possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking, simple possession of a controlled drug and possession of property obtained by crime, both under and over $5,000. The accused will appear in bail court on April 27. This investigation is continuing at this time.
