Cause a Disturbance, Resist Arrest & Threatening
20 year-old Michael Hodgson of 27 Nebenaigoching Street was arrested just before 2 am this morning at Sault Area Hospital and charged with one count of cause a disturbance, one count of resist peace officer, one count of threatening death or bodily harm and one count of assault peace officer. It is alleged that just before 2 am police were called to assist the ambulance and hospital service with a patient that was very intoxicated, causing a disturbance by screaming and swearing and behaving violently. The accused had to be arrested and during this time he was continuously combative and physically resisted the officers. It is also alleged that the accused spat in one of the officer’s face and threatened to kill the officer. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Two Cases of Criminal Harassment
1) 44 year-old Alex Mancuso of 104-365 Lake Street was arrested on the 3rd of April just before 5 pm at an east end residence and charged with one count of criminal harassment, one count of harassing phone calls and one count of unlawfully in a dwelling house. It is alleged that between June 2006 and the 3rd of April 2007 the accused continuously harassed a female victim known to him by making numerous and unwanted phone calls and visits to her residence. The accused also followed the victim on a number of occasions and watched her. It is further alleged that on the 3rd of April the accused was found inside the victim’s residence by the victim when she returned home. The victim contacted city police and the arrest was made. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
2) A 38 year-old male was arrested this morning around 4 am at an east end residence and charged with one count of criminal harassment. It is alleged that between the 23rd of March and the 3rd of April 2007 the accused continuously followed and watched his ex-girlfriend. It is also alleged that he made several unwanted text messages to her and attended at her residence on a number of occasions. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Four Youth Arrested
City police arrested four youths yesterday just after 6 pm on Great Northern Road after stopping them in a vehicle that had been reported stolen on the 30th of March 2007. Patrol officers received information that the vehicle had just left the Knights of Columbus parking lot on Northern Avenue. A 15 year-old male that was driving the vehicle was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of mischief under $5,000 and breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). It is alleged that this youth was driving the stolen vehicle at the time it was stopped and that sometime after the vehicle was stolen he spray painted it. This youth was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and is to appear in court on the 8th of May.
A 15-year-old male was charged with one count of possession of stolen property obtained by crime. It is alleged that he was a passenger in this stolen vehicle. He is to appear in court on the 8th of May.
A 13 year-old female was also charged with one count of possession of stolen property obtained by crime. It is alleged that she was a passenger in the stolen vehicle as well. She is to appear in court on the 8th of May.
Another passenger, a 13 year-old male was charged with one count of stolen property obtained by crime and is to appear in bail court this morning.
Break & Enter
A break in was reported yesterday afternoon to a residence on Wilding Avenue. Some jewellery was taken and it is unknown when the break and enter occurred.
