Evening Report: Arrests/Charged Persons: On August 15th, 2012 at approximately one o’clock in the afternoon Patrol and Traffic Services Officers responded to a motor vehicle/pedestrian motor vehicle collision in the intersection of Lake St.

Arrests/Charged Persons:

On August 15th, 2012 at approximately one o’clock in the afternoon Patrol and Traffic Services Officers responded to a motor vehicle/pedestrian motor vehicle collision in the intersection of Lake St. at McNabb St. Officers learned that an 82 year old male was crossing the McNabb St. in the east cross walk when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle was southbound on Lake St. and was turning left to proceed east on McNabb St. when it struck the pedestrian. The 82 year old male was transported to the Sault Area Hospital with serious injuries. The collision is currently under investigation by Traffic Services Section.

On August 15th, 2012 at approximately 2:30 pm the accused John Willard Pine age 40, attempted to enter the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center with a small quantity of marihuana concealed on his person. The suspected drugs were found and police called.  The accused was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and will appear in Bail Court on Thursday August 16, 2012 at 10:00am

Break and Enters/Other Property Crimes: 

On the morning of August 15th, 2012 Police Officers investigated three break and enters to sheds in the west ends of the city. Two sheds in the 100 Goetz St had its lock cut off and items from it were removed. At the time of this news release the victims were still preparing a detailed report of the items stolen. And a third shed in the 600 block of McAllen St. was broken into and a red gas can and a twenty pound propane tank were removed.

Morning Report:

Damage to vehicle

46 year old Dennis White of Copernicus Drive was charged with mischief early this morning. Mr. White caused damage to a vehicle in the parking lot of Pino’s on Trunk Road. He will appear in court on Sept. 17th.
