Evening Report:
Vehicle Seized in Drug Investigation
Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Street Team have been continuing their efforts to combat drug trafficking in the city of Sault Ste. Marie by seizing property that drug dealers are using to assist them in committing these crimes. On the 7th of August 2012 at approximately 8:05pm officers observed the accused Christopher Carson of 2-751 Wellington Street East operating a motor vehicle in a manner that caught the attention of officers. The vehicle was stopped and as officers approached the vehicle and the accused was immediately observed holding a clear plastic bag containing a quantity of Cannabis marijuana. As a result he was arrested and the vehicle was searched. During the search, officers located: 10 grams of marijuana, 57 morphine capsules (15mg dosage) a digital scale, a quantity of cash and toking devices. The estimated street value of the drugs is $1055.00. Carson has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. His vehicle, a 1999 Chevy Cavalier and the quantity of cash were seized as offense related property and officers will be seeking an order for these items to be forfeited to the crown.
Morning Report:
On the 7 August 2012 police responded to a domestic complaint. It is alleged that a male sent his ex partner a text message threatening to kill her. Police located the man and he will be appearing in bail court on 8 August 2012 charged with one count of threatening.

Police attended the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center to execute a warrant on Randy Piazza (age 29). A Probation and Parole warrant was issued for Piazza for failing to report to his probation officer back in June. He will be appearing in bail court on 8 August 2012 at 10:00 AM.

On the 8 August 2012 police were called to the 300 block of Goulais Ave in regards to a noise complaint. Upon arrival they found a male and female arguing. The male was arrested and a subsequent search revealed what appeared to be cocaine and non prescription pills. Charged with possession of a controlled substance x 2 and breach of probation x 2 is Dano Ruttan (age 21). He will be appearing in bail court on the 8 August 2012 at 10:00 am.

Jacob Breathat (age 20) of no fixed address was charged with theft under $5,000.00, possession of stolen property, theft of a credit card and uttering a forged document. It is alleged that between July and August of 2012 Breathat was living with a relative when he pawned off a $4,000.00 china set, stole his relatives credit card and forged a signature to purchase various articles and cash advances. He will be appearing in bail court on August 8, 2012.
