A male entered the Food Basics on Pine Street and it is alleged that while there he stole two packages of cheese slices valued at $9.98. Douglas Currie, age 49 of 490 Parliament Street was apprehended by store security and will be appearing in court on March 18th.

High School Liaison Officers arrested a 15 year old male youth earlier today and charged him with possession for the purpose of trafficking in a narcotic. The principle of the school received information the student was in possession of marihuana. After further investigation it was determined the student had 7 small baggies of marihuana on his person. He will be appearing in Youth Court on March 12th.

53 year old David McElwain of 167 Prentice Avenue was arrested and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on the 12th of February the accused was at the No Frills on Korah Rd and put two cans of coffee into his shopping bag and left the store without paying for them. The total value of the coffee was $6.00. He was arrested by store security and was subsequently given a court date of March 11th 2013.

A 21 year old male was arrested as a result of a domestic violence incident. It is alleged that on the 12th of February the male and his girlfriend got into an argument and the male began striking the female in the face. He also would not allow her to leave the residence and when she did try to; he pinned her down and chocked her. He will be appearing in bail court this morning.

On February 13th at approximately 2:58 am, police saw a car driving on Boundary Rd that they recognized as having been parked at a residence they had been at a short time earlier where all parties were consuming alcohol. The vehicle was stopped and it is alleged that the driver was showing signs of being intoxicated by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the station for breath tests. 43 year old Murray Fletcher of 219 Meadowpark Crescent will be appearing in court on March 18th charged with impaired driving and consuming over the legal limit.
