Man Turns Self in on Assault Charges
Yesterday at approximately 2pm a 46-year-old male turned himself in to Police at the City Police Services building. It is believed that the male assaulted his girlfriend by striking her on the back at her down town residence in January. The male has been charged with 1 count of assault and is scheduled to appear in court on the 21st of March.
Charged with Threatening Death
In a second domestic related incident a 19-year-old male has been charged with 1 count of threatening death or bodily harm. It’s believed that sometime between the 1st of February and the 12th of February the male sent a message to the victim via the Internet on MSN stating he was going to shoot her and harm her. The accused is to appear in court on the 21st of March.
Theft of A Bell Pay Phone
City Police attended at a residence yesterday evening after investigating the theft of a bell pay phone, which had been taken from the Beaver gas station on Pine Street. Police received information that the phone may be at a 33 Crystal Place. Officers attended at the residence and upon speaking to the occupants they observed parts of a pay phone. 23-year-old Kayla Williams has been charged with 1 count of Possession of property obtained by crime and is to appear in court on March 19th.
Youth Turned Self in on Stolen Vehicle Charges
A 14-year-old youth turned themselves in to the City Police yesterday at approximately 6pm regarding an outstanding warrant. The charge is related to an incident of a stolen vehicle from August 12th, 2006. The Youth, who is scheduled to appear in court on March 20th, has been charged with 1 count of theft over $5000 and 1 count of possession of property obtained by crime.
Break & Enter
A break and enter was reported to Police yesterday evening. It’s believed that between 4pm and 6pm yesterday afternoon someone entered a residence on Albert Street East and stole a DVD player and DVD’s.
