34-year-old Loretta Carey of Morin St. was arrested by City Police officers overnight for breaching a condition of her recognizance which required her to remain in her residence at all times.

34-year-old Loretta Carey of Morin St. was arrested by City Police officers overnight for breaching a condition of her recognizance which required her to remain in her residence at all times. Officers located Carey in the area of Tancred and Albert Street at approximately 3:15 a.m. this morning. She appeared in bail court earlier today.

On the morning of July 15, 2015 at approximately 5 a.m. patrol officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a large animal on Second Line West near Carpin Beach Road.  Investigation revealed the vehicle collided with a horse.  The vehicle, a 2003 Dodge Caravan received extensive damage.  The driver suffered minor injuries.  The horse unfortunately died at the scene.  The investigation is continuing.

On the morning of July 15, 2015 at approximately 7 a.m. patrol officers responded to a report of a person having been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the north end of the city.  As a result of their investigation, 23-year-old Dwayne Grawbarger of First Avenue was arrested and charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm.  It is alleged that Grawbarger was driving his vehicle while an acquaintance was on the hood of the car and fell off causing serious but non-life threatening injuries.  He will be appearing in court August 17, 2015.

On the morning of July 15, 2015 at approximately 06:45 hours patrol officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Great Northern Road and Northern Avenue East. Investigation by officers revealed an adult female was walking east bound across Great Northern Road in the crosswalk and was struck by a small SUV which was turning left in an attempt to go northbound from Northern Ave onto Great Northern Road. The collision caused serious but non-life threatening injuries to the pedestrian who was transported to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the vehicle, a 73-year-old female, was charged with Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

An 18-year-old male was arrested by city police officers last night on a domestic related matter. It is alleged that on July 10 the accused attended to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and became involved in an argument which escalated to the point where the accused slapped the victim in the side of the head, knocking her to the ground. He was charged with one count of assault and appeared in Bail Court earlier today.

A 36-year-old male turned himself in to city police early this morning on four domestic-related charges he was wanted on. It is alleged that between October and December of 2011 he assaulted his common law female partner by punching her in the nose. Between July and October of 2012 it is alleged the accused punched the victim in the face area again. Between April and May of this year it is alleged the accused grabbed the victim’s hair and banged her head off of a cabinet. Most recently, on July 12, it is alleged the accused grabbed the victim by her hair and attempted to drag her out of a vehicle. As a result he was charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm and two counts of assault. He appeared in Bail Court earlier today.
