On the 19th of November 2014 at approximately 1105 am Patrol Services attended the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and arrested 23yrs old Nicolas Vincenzo FRONZI of no fixed address with regards to an outstanding arrest warrant for Break and Enter

On the 19th of November 2014 at approximately 1105 am Patrol Services attended the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and arrested 23yrs old Nicolas Vincenzo FRONZI of no fixed address with regards to an outstanding arrest warrant for Break and Enter and Breach of Probation. It is alleged the accused broke into a residence in the 200 block of St. Patrick Street between the 26 of August to the 3rd of September 2014. The accused was also on a Probation Order to keep the peace and be of good behavior. The accused will appear in Bail Court on the 20th of November 2014.

On the 19th of November 2014 at approximately 1235 pm Patrol Services attended a downtown residence and arrested a 20yrs old male with regards to an outstanding domestic arrest warrant. It is alleged the accused committed various offences between the 20th of July 2014 to the 31st of October 2014 and on the 13th of November 2014. On or between the above mentioned time frames the accused stole the victim’s cell phone, struck her in the facial area, threatened to damage the victim’s residence and burn it down. Further, the accused breached his Probation Order by attending the victim’s residence, communicating with the victim, molesting/harassing and physically interfering with the victim. The accused is charged with Robbery, uttering threats and five counts of breaching his Probation Order. The accused will appear in Bail Court on the 20th of November 2014.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on November 18, a homeowner in the 300 block of Wilson Street called 911 to report a male was trying to break into the residence. The male fled the area in a white vehicle and a physical description was provided by the caller. A window at the residence had been broken and a wiper on a vehicle had been bent. The suspect was scared off by the homeowner.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. officers received a call to attend in the 300 block of St. Georges Avenue East for a male attempting to break into vehicles. The description of this male matched the call to Wilson Street. Upon their arrival officers located the male suspect beside a vehicle that had been damaged with a hammer. He was taken into custody without incident. While dealing with the male, officers learned that he was also wanted for an assault from November 11 where he assaulted a male by punching him in the stomach and biting him. 

33-year-old Brendan Gignac of St. Georges Avenue East has been charged with one count of break and enter, one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of assault. He will appear in bail court this morning.

Shortly after 1 a.m. this morning, officers attended at an address in the central area of town after a male threatened another male known to him. It is alleged that the accused threatened to burn down the residence of the victim, kicked a door to the residence and poured gasoline inside the residence and on the front lawn. Officers located the suspect a short distance away.  When officers went to arrest the accused he pulled a black handgun out of the back of his waistband. Officers were able to get the weapon away immediately and the male was handcuffed. Officers determined the weapon was a bb gun. When searching the accused officers located a lighter.

27-year-old Michael Morningstar of Goulais Avenue was arrested and has been charged with one count of uttering threats to damage property, one count of mischief, one count of arson-disregard for human life and one count of possession of incendiary material. He will appear in bail court this morning.

Yesterday afternoon a homeowner in the 1100 block of Queen Street East reported a break and enter. The break in occurred during the daytime. Items taken include electronics, clothing and cologne.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. this morning Muio’s Confectionary was broken into. A large quantity of cigarettes was taken.

Yesterday afternoon just after 2:30 p.m., an adult female was walking southbound on Church Street when a male ran up behind her and stole her purse. The male was last seen on Herrick Street. The only description of the male is that he was 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a grey fleece hoodie and dark pants. The purse is described as a black “Kathy” brand purse with a pink interior, with a top zipper and pockets on both sides. On November 18, 2014, city police responded to a call at the YMCA on McNabb Street regarding a male subject that was there that was on probation not to be where young person’s under the age of 16 years are present or can reasonably be present. Police arrested the accused for breach of probation. The accused Robert Osborne, age 33, will appear in bail court on November 19, 2014 at 10 a.m.

On November 18, 2014, city police responded to a dated domestic assault incident that is alleged to have taken place between October 1, 2014 and October 15, 2014. The accused, age 30, allegedly assaulted the victim by grabbing her by the throat and pinning her against the wall after a verbal argument had taken place. City police arrested the accused on November 18, 2014 but during the arrest the accused pulled away from the officer and grabbed a kitchen knife. The accused was eventually subdued.  The accused will appear in bail court on November 19, 2014 at 10 a.m.

On November 18, 2014, police received an anonymous call regarding a male named Marc wanting to turn himself in because he was wanted. The caller indicated that the person would be in a Kia vehicle behind the Burger King. Police located the vehicle and driver. A strong odor of an alcohol beverage was detected coming from the breath of the accused. The accused was given a road side test and failed. The accused was brought to the police station and was given a breath test and was charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol in his blood. The accused Marc Joseph Morris, age 40 of Beaverbrook, New Brunswick, will appear in bail court on November 19, 2014 at 10 a.m.
