On the 19th of November 2013 just before 10:20 am City Police and Fire Services attended on Carmen’s Way for a motor vehicle collision. 

A school bus operated by 56-year old Barbara Boire was travelling westbound on Carmen’s Way and stopped at the railway tracks. It is alleged that a delivery truck travelling westbound on Carmen’s Way was behind the school bus and failed to stop when the bus stopped.  The truck then struck the back of the bus.   

Both drivers were taken to the SAH for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

No children were on the bus at the time of the collision.  Road conditions were good. Damage to the truck was described as demolished and damage to the bus was described as moderate.

The driver of the truck, 37-year old Larry Snider of Sault Ste. Marie, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of careless driving.
