Evening news: Vandalism to vehicles overnight were reported in the MacDonald Avenue, Curran Drive area as well as the 200 Block of Northern Avenue East.

Vandalism to vehicles overnight were reported in the MacDonald Avenue, Curran Drive area as well as the 200 Block of Northern Avenue East.

A 2000 Dodge Dakota was stolen from a Lake Street apartment complex sometime overnight and reported to City Police this morning. The vehicle was located a short time later in the vicinity of the theft. Investigation revealed that the ignition had been popped out.

A blue 2000 Dodge Caravan with license plates BJLV660 was reported stolen from the 700 block of North St. overnight as well. This vehicle has not been located at the time of this report.

30 year old William McDonald of the 400 block of Wallace Terrace was arrested today by City Police officers and charged with stealing a purse from Seniors Centre at 235 Wellington Street W. The purse was recovered and returned to the owner. McDonald will be appearing in Bail Court on January 6, 2014

Morning news:

A resident in the 100 block of Centennial Ave reported an attempted break and enter. Footprints were observed in the snow and two windows were reported broken. Entry was not gained to the residence.

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on November 27th police received a report that the front door of Mike’s Lunch at 518 Queen Street was smashed. Police were able to locate some youths in the area but were unable to establish that they were the ones responsible.

A 27 year old male was arrested as a result of a domestic violence call. It is alleged that on November 25th the accused assaulted his ex girlfriend by punching her in the face. She received minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. The accused is charged with one count of assault and will be appearing in bail court this morning.

A 20 year old male was arrested for one count of breaching a recognizance of bail. It is alleged that the accused attended at the place of employment of an ex girlfriend despite having been placed on a release document to stay away. He will be appearing in bail court this morning charged with one count of breach of a recognizance.
