Yesterday morning a homeowner on Madeleine Street reported a break and enter to their garage. It is unknown at this time what was taken. Sometime between September 12 and September 16, a residence on Brown Street was entered.

Yesterday morning a homeowner on Madeleine Street reported a break and enter to their garage. It is unknown at this time what was taken.

Sometime between September 12 and September 16, a residence on Brown Street was entered. Sunglasses and a watch were taken.

Between September 12 and September 16 a residence on Huron Street was entered. Numerous tools were taken.

Yesterday city police received 11 reports of thefts from vehicles. Vehicles were entered on Sheppard Street, Parkdale Drive, Cunningham Road, Caddy Avenue, Palace Drive, Albert Street West, Weldon Avenue, Placid Avenue, Balfour Street and Northern Avenue. Items taken in these thefts include a GPS, a Mac book, three wallets and contents, money, and an IPhone 4.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to again remind the public not to leave items of value in vehicles. If your wallet and contents are stolen, you could become a victim of identity theft. In addition, replacing all your documents takes time and is a lengthy process. So remember, lock it or lose it! For further crime prevention tips, visit the Sault Ste. On September 16, 2014, city police responded to a theft of property at the Canadian Tire store in the Cambrian Mall. It is alleged that the accused placed several items in a shopping bag and left the store without attempting to pay for the property. Loss prevention officers acted and the accused was detained. Officers attended and the accused was arrested for theft under $5,000. Rachelle Marie Daynard, age 35, will appear in court on October 20, 2014 at 9 a.m.
