Sault Police arrested a man yesterday for allegedly smearing feces on a door handle, then fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred approximately six weeks ago, on the afternoon of April 9, in the 500 block of Albert Street East.

At the time, police identified a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest — but the alleged fecal fugitive wasn’t found until yesterday, in the area of John Street and St. Andrews Terrace.

Mark Constable, 57, was arrested and charged with one count of mischief.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on July 22.

The allegation has not been tested in court and Constable is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
