Woman arrested for robbery

On January 11, 2017 officers with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 25-year-old Diane Harrison, of no fixed address, in relation to a robbery at a local convenience store.

It is alleged that at 3:30 a.m. on September 22, 2016 the accused entered a convenience store on Gore Street brandishing a knife and demanded money from the clerk. The accused received a small amount of cash from the till and left the scene.

It is also alleged that just after 4 a.m. on September 22, 2016 the accused attended another convenience store on Second Line West and demanded money from the clerk.  The clerk did not hand over any cash and accused left the scene.

Police were later able to identify the accused with the assistance of the public and she was arrested on January 11.  The accused has been charged with 1 count of robbery and 1 count of attempted theft under $5,000.  She will appear in court on February 13, 2017.
