Woman with pending warrant charged with taxi fare fraud

On March 11, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18-year-old Rune Laudadio of Trunk Road for fraud in relation to fares.

It’s alleged in the afternoon of March 11, 2019, the accused called a taxi service to take her to the downtown area. Once she arrived, she exited the taxi without attempting to pay for the approximately $27 fare.

The accused was taken into custody a short time later where it was discovered she was subject to a pending warrant. She is charged with one count of fraud in relation to fares, two counts of breach of probation, and one count of fail to attend court.

She is scheduled to appear in court on April 15, 2019.
