Position Overview

The Dietitian role in ADEC is responsible for comprehensive assessment, care planning, and nutrition education for patient and families in both group and individual settings. The dietitian will work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team and/or other agencies contributing to the client care approach to diabetes management and participate in an ongoing quality improvement and promotional activities, committees and the development of standards and policies.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Registered Dietitian with a degree in Human Applied Nutrition or equivalent with active membership in the Ontario College of Dietitians in good standing

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate may possess:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a clinical setting
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) Certificate and asset

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a flexible and creative approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and other agencies, displaying good clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Well-developed self-awareness, self-management and social awareness skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to perform comprehensive assessment, care planning and nutrition education for patients and families
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge of nutrition therapy and experience working with physicians and patients
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability providing patients with education, empowerment and encouragement
  • A solid track record of maintaining privacy and confidentiality in the workplace
  • Proven dedication to demonstrating GHC's values

Compensation:

$33.03 – $41.27 (commensurate with experience)
