Production Technician

SUMMARY
Safely and efficiently producing MDF panels within parameters created for that specific product. A Production Technician is a crucial part of the operation with a great deal of responsibility in making product within specification, assuring quality, focus on machine efficiency to meet and or exceed our customer’s expectations. We believe in allowing employees the opportunity to learn different areas of the business. As a production technician, you may work in any of the following areas;
• Refining and Drying- where we refine our raw materials to
meet certain grade expectations
• Forming and Pressing- where we take our refined material
mixed with different additives and put it through our
continuous press to produce raw MDF panels
• Finishing- where our product is sanded, cut and packaged
• Lamination- where we apply a decorative laminate to the
board
• Shipping- where we warehouse and ship the board via rail
and truck

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Most technician positions run our process with human-
machine interface (HMI) – control machinery through
automated computer programs on a control panel
• Complete daily rounds for all equipment in the area and
complete preventative maintenance.
• Check the condition of all equipment in the area to ensure
optimum performance.
• Attend and actively participate in team business meetings
and Team Management System meetings.
• Assist team in making good business decisions.
• Keep the work area and surrounding areas clean and free of
debris and trip hazards.
• Perform quality inspections and document results.

REQUIREMENTS
• Post-Secondary Education or related years of work
experience are preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing facility preferred.
• Must have a valid G2 license.
• Excellent Safety work habits and knowledge, wearing proper
PPE at all times.
• Seeking people with a positive attitude and behaviour.
• Willing to work “shift work” that supports a 24 hour a day,
seven day a week operation.
• Proven problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities with
the ability to work in a self-directed facility.
• Must be a motivated individual who holds themselves
accountable and willing to make good, sound business
decisions each day.
• The ability to work effectively in a high performing team
environment to achieve all departmental and organizational
goals.
• Ability to Lift up to 50 lb.
• Ability to work from heights.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is a plus

WHAT CANDIDATES CAN EXPECT:
• Selected applicants will be scheduled for Mechanical Skills
test.
• Selected applicants will then be scheduled for a panel
Interview.
