The Ontario Finnish Resthome Association (OFRA) issued a statement regarding a recent positive COVID-19 test result from a staff member. The test was confirmed Sunday and was listed as Algoma's 28th case by Algoma Public Health.
According to the statement, the staff member underwent a second COVID-19 test which produced a negative result on Tuesday.
"We are very pleased to announce that OFRA remains 100 per cent COVID-19 free," the statement reads. "Enhanced precautions remain in place to ensure due diligence in keeping all residents safe."
The Algoma Public Health website indicates that the region has 28 reported confirmed cases of COVID-19, all of which are considered "resolved according to current public health criteria."
