Algoma Public Health reports COVID-19 case number 27 in the district.

The person who tested positive for coronavirus is now self-isolating, says the health unit.

They were exposed to the virus through close contact and their close contacts have been notified.

"Community spread remains possible and likely in all regions of Algoma," says Algoma Health Unit in a media release. "All Algoma residents must continue to practice physical distancing because any close contact could be a possible exposure."

"Masks or face coverings must be worn in all indoor public places in Algoma and they should also be worn in other settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained."
