The City of Sault Ste. Marie says swimming lessons at the John Rhodes will take place this fall season.

Programming will run from Sept. 19 to Nov. 9, and registration starts this coming Wednesday.

Modifications have been made due to COVID-19. The city says all lessons will be taught at a distance to allow participants and staff to maintain physical distancing. Additionally, the number of people accompanying swimmers and designated viewing space will be limited.Swim lessons will run once a week, and class sizes and the number of classes offered per swim block have been reduced.

At the John Rhodes, pool users will be screened and required to sign a waiver prior to being admitted to their program.

There will be limited changing and locker facilities available. Bathrooms will be available as needed. While waiting for lessons and after exiting the pool (but not in the pool), participants must wear masks or face coverings.
