PUC Services is joining Local Distribution Companies across Ontario in providing some security to electricity customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

PUC Services has committed to a three-month extension on the disconnection moratorium for its customers effective March 18, 2020. The moratorium that is in place over the winter months until April 30 will be extended until the end of July 2020.

“As we deal with COVID-19, the City will continue to look for ways to support our residents”, stated Mayor Christian Provenzano. “It is a challenging time, and I want the community to know we are there for them, and we will keep working with partners like the PUC to provide assistance as and when we can.”

Throughout this extended period, PUC will not send any disconnection notices, make 48-hour disconnect calls or disconnect residential services.

“PUC recognizes that this is a very difficult time for everyone, especially for the most vulnerable in our community,” stated Rob Brewer, President & CEO, PUC Services Inc. “As a community partner who is focused on our customers, we want to do our part to alleviate some of the worry during these unprecedented times.”

Any customers who have questions or concerns should contact PUC’s Customer Care department Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 705-759-6522 or customer.care@ssmpuc.com
