The COVID-19 pandemic emergency has resulted in a lot of cancellations of local boards and committees in Sault Ste. Marie.

But some meetings are proceeding anyway, with social-distancing measures in place.

Next week's City Council meeting is still a go.

SooToday will provide livestreaming of that gathering starting at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

A SooToday reporter will also be attending meetings tonight of the Sault Ste. Marie Housing Corp., and District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board.

Those two gatherings have been moved to the Civic Centre to ensure all participants can keep two-metres away from other participants to prevent transmission of coronaviruses and other nasty things.
