Algoma Public Health is reporting three new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region.
All three cases are from the Sault Ste. Marie area.
The new cases bring the total number of cases in the Algoma region since the start of the pandemic to 190.
Cases 188 and 189, both tested on Feb. 8, fall under the exposure category of unknown, meaning the individual did not have any recent international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case.
Case number 190, tested on Feb. 10, is under the close contact exposure category, which means the individual had close contact with a known confirmed case.
There are currently 22 active COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region with two people currently hospitalized.
