The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) invites you to inspect the planned herbicide project for the 2024 season. As part of our ongoing efforts to regenerate and protect Ontario’s forests, selected stands on the Northshore Forest (see map) will be sprayed with herbicide to control competing vegetation,starting on or about August 18, 2024.
The project description and project plan for the herbicide project is available electronically for public inspection by contacting the Northshore Forest Inc. during normal business hours and on the Natural Resources Information Portal at https://nrip.mnr.gov.on.ca/s/fmp-online beginning July 18, 2024 until March 31, 2025 when the Annual Work Schedule expires. The following townships within the management unit have areas eligible for treatment: Casson, Ferrier, Foulds, Havrot, Laughren, Le Caron, Poulin, Rioux, Sagard, Simons, Spragge, Tweedle, Wardle, and Winkler.
First Nation and Métis communities and interested and affected persons and organizations can arrange a remote meeting with MNR staff to discuss the herbicide project. For more information, please contact:
