Today, we gather with heavy hearts,
To honour a mother's love that never departs.
A year has passed since tragedy found its way,
Her own brother, meant to shield, took her away.
Her life was marred by mistreatment, we know,
From siblings who caused her heartache to grow.
But amidst the pain, she chose to rise,
An amazing mother and grandmother in our eyes.
Her love knew no bounds, it shone so bright,
A beacon of warmth in the darkest of nights.
Her love endures, forever embraced,
A gift from her that cannot be erased.
In the face of darkness, she remained strong,
A mother's love, a lifelong song.
Her children and grandchildren, her pride,
With her love, they'll forever abide.
Though tears may flow and hearts may yearn,
In her love's embrace, we shall return.
For a mother and grandmother so awesome and true,
Her legacy lives on in all that we do.
