A new program to help boost women-led social enterprises will soon be available locally.

The program, Funding and Capital: Four Strategy Sessions for Women-Led Ventures, has the goal of assisting women entrepreneurs in the north to access capital by connecting them with investors.

It has been made available through the Northern Ontario Research, Development, Ideas and Knowledge (NORDIK) Institute's Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (SEE) initiative.

A press release issued by NORDIK today states the program will connect ventures to capital, as well as offer peer input and insights, assistance with reviewing and advising for a grant or pitch to an investor.

The program is geared toward women operating a social business with a capital need that must be met over a 12-24 month period. Ventures must have at least one full-time position.

Applications for the second intake, which starts on Sept. 16, are now open.

More information on the program can be found here.
