Three Superior District Libraries—Les Cheneaux Community Library, Bayliss Public Library, and Engadine Library—are sponsoring free April concerts by Oregon musician, Adam Miller (Les Cheneaux on Monday, Apr. 17; Bayliss on Tuesday, Apr. 18; and Engadine on Thursday, Apr. 20, all at 7 p.m.).

Adam Miller is a folksinger and storyteller, who plays autoharp and guitar. He has distinguished himself as one of the great interpreters of American folksongs and folktales, whose performance will appeal to audiences of all ages.

He began his pursuit of collecting old songs while in grade school. Armed with an audio-graphic memory and a good ear for melody, his childhood ambition was to learn every song he heard; he has now amassed a repertoire of over 5,000 songs. His repertoire evokes a bygone time when entertainment was homemade.

“I have always had a great interest in how folksongs travel through history, and how history travels through folksongs,” says Miller. Pete Seeger once praised his “wonderful storytelling!”

Traveling 70,000 miles a year, Miller performs over 200 concerts annually. He has appeared at over 2,000 public libraries and numerous folk festivals. His six CD recordings will be available for purchase at the concerts. Join us for music at your library!
